Multiple personnel, school and national qualifying times took place this weekend as the Roadrunners track & field team competed in the Air Force Invitational. The Roadrunners’ men finished second in the Division II division with 97 points, while the women finished sixth, with 51 points.
On Jan. 24, Senior Jon Clarke scorched opponents with a time of 21.70 in the 200 meters to qualify for the finals. During the finals, Clarke finished third with a time of 21.88, just four-tenths away from the first place time of 21.48.
Sophomore Breanna Hemming ran the mile in 4:48.89 and finished with the third fastest time among contenders.
Senior Kirk Harvey ran the mile in 4:19.83, and came in fifth place.
Junior Phil Hill Jr. set a personal best in the 400 meters with 49.08 seconds, as he finished in second place.
Senior Belle Kiper set a Roadrunner record in the 200 meters with 26.11 seconds, and surpassed Sheila Hughes’ time of 26.30, a school record in 2007. Kiper also ran her season-best 59.97 in the 400 meters.
