Nothing Lasts

I have thought often,

these more than a decade

and less than twenty years

since you have gone:

about what you said,

and what you meant,

and if it’s true

 

that the stars we see with

wonder at night and

awe, are already dead,

brightly fading,

by the time their light

reaches us.
