The Sports Nerd 10
Join me as we look over the NFL at its halfway point, rank all the sagas from Dragon Ball Super and try to make sense of how a show with such a crazy premise like Power Rangers has lasted for more than two decades.
Contender/Pretender Part Two: This week we do Contender or Pretender part two. At the halfway point of the NFL season some teams are beginning to make a serious bid for a spot in the playoffs, while other teams fall behind. Injuries, benchings and surprise emergences from teams and players are leading to what should be an interesting second act in a race to the postseason. I’ll give you my predictions on who actually has a shot to make it, and who will fall short.
Ranking the Sagas from Dragon Ball Super: Following up from last week, we’ll break down all the sagas from Dragon Ball Super. I’ll rank each saga in terms of my personal favorites and give both pros and cons to each saga, including the current Universal Survival Arc which pits Goku, Vegeta and the rest of the Universe Seven heroes in the Tournament of Power to see which universe is saved from total annihilation.
The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers – Why Does it Work?: We look back to 1993, when a show was pitched that combined (less than) average American acting and impressive fight choreography with a dubbed-over Japanese show from the 1980s. The premise sounds too ridiculous to work, yet the Power Rangers have been on the air for nearly 25 years. In the first of a two-part series, we’ll look at a brief history and the ups and downs of the Power Rangers series as well as my personal experiences with the show, despite the fact that in concept this show never should have worked.
