The Film Crew Podcast: Safety Not Guaranteed

The Film Crew takes a look at the indie film from 2012, Safety Not Guaranteed. The film is directed by Colin Trevorrow and written by Derek Connolly. The movie is about a man named Kenneth who places an advertisement in a newspaper requesting a partner to travel back in time with. A depressed intern named Darius, works with her boss in trying to make a magazine story out of the situation. Darius soon realizes that Kenneth might not be what she originally though he was. Safety Not Guaranteed is an interesting tale of comedy and romance. It also brings up the question of why we do things and if the past really matters. The film also stars Aubrey PlazaJake Johnson, and Mark Duplass.

The Film Crew also discusses the new adaptation of Macbeth put on by The Denver Center Performing Arts. Does a cool idea often overshadow the meaning of a play? When is a savvy technical aspect of a show distracting from the message the director or writer is trying to convey? How does this idea relate to the movie industry through the use of Blu-Ray and 4K video? Somehow, we have an answer, so check out this episode of The Film Crew. The speakers for this episode are Drew Knapp, Dylan Sprague, and Chism Mattson. Next week’s episode will be about Blade Runner 2049 and the original Blade Runner.
